Tallige Cherokee Cultural Center

In 2000, Tallige Cherokee moved our Sacred Fire to 40 acres in Adams county.

The Tallige Cherokee Cultural Center includes 40 isolated acres of forested land  with creeks and a water fall. The main house consists of round rooms.  (Yes, the rooms are round, just like our traditional Round Houses.  It was the Europeans the decided everything should be square since square is easier to build.  But round reflects the circular nature of Life and Mother Earth).

The natural beauty of the Tallige grounds reveals the grandeur of Mother Earth.

A stream an numerous waterfalls are found on the grounds.  Water is sacred,

as it is the life blood of Mother Earth that connects all living things.

The rocks are also sacred.  Below is Turtle Rock, a gigantic stone head of a turtle that

projects from a cliff wall overlooking the valley below.  This has been a sacred site for

Native Americans since time immemorial.

All those who are interested in following the Traditional Cherokee Way are encouraged to join us.  Just come by on any of our monthly meetings or ceremonies.   Click here for Directions to our new property.

There is much work to be done to make this new place our home.  The building needs to have the wiring replace, painting and plastering throughout, and the drive regraded.  We are also rebuilding our Sacred Circle and Sweat Lodge.  If you are able and willing to assist us in these efforts your help would be greatly appreciated.  All contributions are tax deductible.  Please contact us at:
